Gerard Butler recently attended a press conference in Phoenix, to promote his latest movie Law Abiding Citizen. The movie is still rolling out gradually in movie theaters across the globe. The movie will hit Australia on January 28th 2010, and Italy on 16th April 2010.

The movie has so far achieved $98,297,311 Gross, against a budget of $53,000,000 (stats up to 15/1/2010).

At the conference, Gerard Butler spoke about his background. He mentioned that he finds it annoying that some journalists still refer to him as a new-comer.  Gerard Butler mentioned that he has done over 20 movies ranging from Phantom of the Opera and of course 300 (his biggest movie to date). Gerard Butler joked that if they haven't heard of 300, then they should leave the room.

Gerard Butler then spoke about the production company (Evil Twins) he set up with his manager Alan Siegel.

He then got distracted by clicking sounds in the background then realized it was him that was causing it. Gerard Butler admitted that he has always been a fidgeter!

Gerard Butler then talked about how he met the writer for Law Abiding Citizen, and the process involved in getting the movie produced. Gerard Butler then apologized for wasting 3 minutes of the audience's time. This was after he realized the information was already visible on the projector behind him.

Gerard butler then spoke positively about the Film Department.

More interestingly, Gerard Butler admitted that he made a potential mistake in turning a role down for Sherlock Holmes the Movie. After all, earlier this week, Robert Downey Jr was presented a Golden globes award for his part in Sherlock Holmes.

In an interview, Gerard Butler said:

"Pretty much every movie that is coming out nowadays is mega budget. It's Avatar, It's Sherlock Holmes which I was offered by the way and decided not to do... made a bit of a F*ck up, but who knows... "

Gerard Butler then went on to talk about medium sized budget movies which also tend to do well, such as PS I Love you.

Gerard Butler continued praising The Film Department for all their great work, and mentioned Mark in particular who has a lot of experience having worked for Miramax, Columbia, and Warner Independence.  Gerard Butler then went onto mention that Mark worked on 'March of the penguins', which is one of Gerard Butler's favorite  movies of all time. Gerard Butler joked that he knew the entire dialog for the movie and made entertaining penguin sounds to prove it.
